Open means a TCP handshake was accepted at this time from this source. Closed means the connection was refused. A timeout cannot distinguish firewall, NAT, provider blocking or an unavailable service. First check the application’s listening interface, then firewall and forwarding. Service names are port-number references, not software detection.
